Dear Friends and Sponsors,

It’s back to school time in the Dominican Republic, just like in the USA. This year more Haitian children are coming to our schools because the Dominican schools are full to overflowing. At their church school they find friendship, acceptance, the Word of God, and the chance to learn in their own heart language as well as in Spanish. The children also enjoy their hot meals. The past two weeks we have been busy delivering the necessary food to the schools.

Today I want to highlight the school in Cenovi. The majority of the parents work sporadically in agriculture. The school is surrounded by rice fields. The director had to add a new teacher this year, so he chose his fiance! Just yesterday we delivered 7 more benches to accommodate the growth, donated by another school which switched to tables. Even though their rented space is small, the staff have made it welcoming to the students. Recently a supporter of this school had to stop sending money. Pray more sponsors step up to meet the need!

Our Haitian school teachers have been taking an online class for 8 months, preparing them to be better teachers, and will continue into the fall. They have been decorating and preparing to receive the students that God sends them. We promised the teachers who took the online class that we would give them a raise if they finished. We really need to do this, but we depend on our sponsors to send the funds. We will need an extra $2000 a month. If you have stopped supporting, would you please consider signing up again?
