Dear Sponsors and Friends of Teach Feed Love,

I am writing to you from an American airliner on our way back to our home in La Vega, Dominican Republic, after a 70 day stay in the US. We were blessed to visit with family in Florida, North Carolina, New Jersey, Massachusetts and Maine. We attended several birthday parties, our oldest granddaughter’s high school graduation, a memorial service for my 99-year-old aunt, time with my two sisters, brother and their spouses, and my 95-year-old Dad and step mother. We were able to attend Palm Sunday and Easter services at American churches, visited supporting churches, met with future team members and thankfully gained some more sponsors for our precious Haitian school children. We had doctor appointments and I finally replaced the glasses I cracked when pruning a tree last year. It has been a very full spring! I was even blessed to smell the northern flowers, such as lilacs, lilies of the valley and peonies, flowers we don’t have in the DR.

These last few days have been busy packing up 4 boxes with books, school supplies, clothes, food and 3 sewing machines that were donated. We also organized the itineraries for the team from North Carolina coming in June, the 2 teams from Colorado coming in July, plus the team from the Atlanta area. The Dominican and Haitian churches are awaiting fun times with the American teams!

May I pass on a few prayer requests? Please pray that the teams are effective in ministry, that the Lord speaks to each and every member on each team, and that they are covered with health and safety. Please pray for Pastor Juan Ortiz, our first school director, who has been in the hospital for the last several weeks. Also pray for our Haitian helpers, Rutherford and Frantzou, who will be translating and helping with the teams. Also, please pray for the safety and well-being of our Haitian students and their families. Finally, please pray for an end to the violence and lawlessness in Haiti.

Thank you for your prayers, your love, and your donations that make a way for us to pay the teachers and provide food for the students. Please do not forget us during the summer months. We would like to pay the teachers through the summer, and we really need some miracle offerings to get back into the black and honor our commitments.

God bless you! Remember your tax-deductible donations can be sent using a the give page here. Some of you donate to TMCI, thank you. We receive all those offerings. For those who like to write a check, please make it out to “Teach Feed Love” and send it to Teach Feed Love c/o TMCI, PO BOX 1761, Columbia, SC 29202. I also receive donations through Zelle at lavegaschool@gmail.com.

Below you can find some of the photos I was sent this month from our school directors. You can see the promise in the eyes of the children. One of our pastors, Gesner from Ranchito, graduated from a 3 year Bible school. Next month I will send photos of our end of the year parties!

God bless you and yours,

Debbie and Mitch Martinez and the Teach Feed Love team
